Hue Medium Trunk Luggage

I needed new luggage for a mother-daughter trip, but it had been ages since I've shopped the luggage market, and I didn't know what was out there. I have two vintage steamer closet trunks, so naturally, I became OBSESSED with the idea of a trunk-style case. I read a bunch of reviews, and CALPAK's Hue Medium Trunk came out as my winner. Once I saw the key lime color, I was sold. Like a true Elder Millennial of Whimsy, I immediately covered it with stickers. (No way to miss the light green be-stickered trunk at baggage claim!) Packing it was honestly a lot of fun. All my clothes fit comfortably in the slightly deeper side with the compression straps, and being able to contain all the "stuff and things" in the zippered compartment half was like a revelation, haha! This is what organized luggage can be! As a short person (5'1",) I tend to find large luggage unwieldy, but the medium trunk felt like a great size. All three handles were comfortable, although I wish there were a recessed notch or something on the bottom to make moving/lifting/inverting the trunk easier. (Something that doesn't interfere with the feet. ) The spinner wheels were smooth as key lime pie, the TSA zipper lock was super convenient, and when I slipped a small weekender bag over the telescoping handle, the trunk kept its balance. Technically, I am rounding up from 4. 5 because I'm a bit split on the exterior. On the one hand, it's delightfully lightweight. On the other hand, it's because the shell is thin and slightly flexible. (I can't tell if that makes it more prone to cracking or not, but so far so good. ) It also scuffed up immediately after one flight. While I don't mind a well-traveled-looking case, others might. Additionally, the telescoping handle felt a little weak; it could use more durability. Overall, super pleased with the Hue Medium Trunk. I can't wait to CALPAK it again and go somewhere. ;-)

Perfect Size and Shape for my items! I like that it reorganizes my stuff in a way that is more conducive to traveling on trains/busses so that it doesn't take up a ton of space. The little feet have been very handy in keeping the body of the case off the ground and and it rolls very comfortably and seemingly without much effort. What is annoying is the chosen texture finish; it is such that every grease spot/rubber bumper/coveyor belt nonsense/etc. gets smeared onto the bag and makes it look incredibly dingy so fast. Calpak really should figure out their bag luggage covers if they are going to go with this finish because it sucks to feel like you have to clean it after each and every trip just so that it doesn't look incredibly gross.
