Restoring old Shop Smith thickness planer

I ordered this cutting head as part of a restoration of my grandfather's old stand alone Shop Smith thickness planer. Installation was relatively easy (with the help of a few YouTube videos). Since this was my first thickness planer, I don't have a good reference for how much of an improvement it made (old blades that hadn't been used in 25 years are not a worth comparison). However, the boards coming out of the planer now are very smooth and nice to work with and I can take off 1/16+ layers off 8-inch wide old hard wood boards without overloading the motor. I liked this cutting head so much that I ordered one for my jointer as well.

Installed easy, cuts beautiful, leaves a very smooth surface and this was the best price i could find for the quality of the product.
