Insane Upgrade
the tone is too good. i put it in my Ibanez gio GRX40 and played it with my nano cortex. it is insanely sounds good. great pick up overall!

Absolutely amazing pickups
These pickups are soooo good!! They all sound great, looks amazing, and the wiring diagrams form the website make it so easy for wiring them into an existing harness of a brand new one. I highly recommend buying these if you're looking for a affordable great sound HSS Set.

Great outcome with the Birmingham HSS set
I've used Tonerider pickups in my projects for a little while now and have never really had a bad word to say about them. For me, they have always provided really high quality outcomes for a relatively low cost, particularly if I compare them to the 'bigger name' 'boutique' pickup manufacturers. This HSS set is no different. I've used Birmingham humbuckers in a LP-style project guitar previously, and know how well they work, including where you are looking to coil split for increased tone options. However, I've never used the classic blues single coils before and have been really happy with the way they balance with the humbucker in this set.
In this Washburn project guitar, I've put in an on-on switch to allow coil splitting of the humbucker (rather than using a push-pull pot) and have easily managed to balance the sounds of the three pickups when using it in that mode, (although with the 500K volume and tone pots I used, I'm glad I tamed some of the single coil brightness using a 510K resistor on each of the neck and middle pickup switch relays). Despite the fact that all of these pickups are hotter than the more 'vintage' Toneriders I've often used before, I can still get a really nice 'chimey' strat-like sound (particularly in coil split mode) or a more dirty overdriven sound (in both modes). Clarity is fantastic in most situations, so far, across all of the seven tones I can generate through the coil split option. I'm super happy with the price, packaging, shipping, quality and outcome, once again, so keep up the good work Tonerider!
