Vintage 90 Soapbar

Boutique sound at an affordable price? In my experience - yes. I bought one of the loathed 2015 Les Paul Specials back in 2015 with the intention of ripping out all the silly stuff (after all it's a good USA made platform underneath). The robot tuners were a no brainer but the pickups have prooved more difficult. This is the 3rd set of P90's I've tried - and the first that actually do the proper P90 thing. Played clean they're very open and clear but they have enough push to drive the front of a valve amp with ease. I was concerned they might be too polite but no, definitely not. The prices some of the big names are charging now is outrageous and I don't think they offer anything near enough to warrant those prices, which makes these Toneriders even more remarkable. Nice one Tonerider.

Excellent pickups

I now have 3 different sets of Tonerider pickups. For the money, nothing else comes close. These things compare very favourably with boutique pickups 3 times the price. Customer service is also excellent. Highly recommend.

outstanding performance

An old Heritage H127 Custom ( rare ‘92 Kalamazoo made) routed for this P90 resulted in a completely new and impressive instrument: singing and with a rich and full sound: outstanding! This old thing can now keep up with the Custom Core’s!
