Samurai Jeans SJST-SC01 Japanese Cotton Crew T-Shirt Kuri

Substantial yet soft

I was a little hesitant to buy such an expensive tee unseen and unfelt, but having this for a couple weeks now I'm glad I took the risk. The texture is hairy but not rough, with a dry hand and impressive thickness. It's not butter soft, but it is soft and I have no problem with roughness, much less any scratchiness. The weight makes it a great winter tee for layering, or an spring/fall (or cool summer nights) tee on its own. Like many thicker and denser tees, it comes out of the package fitting snug, but quickly stretches out to a roomier fit more molded to your body that is in no way constricting. I sized up one size from my usual tee size and it fits perfectly. The Kuri color is a yellowish tan, almost a butter color, that adds to the unique "natural" feel and look. I'm loving this shirt and finding excuses to wear it! I hope to see it in more colors. This was part of my first order from Redcast and the shipping was impressively fast to the states. I'll be back for more!

Tons of character

Took some getting used to at first. Because the surface of the fabric is so rough, it itches a bit. But after 10 minutes I don't notice it anymore and it fits like a glove. I also like that the collar is so “tight” around my neck. It dresses nicely. Furthermore, it is of course a fantastic story that they started growing cotton in Japan!
