Pre ordered and looked forward to reading it. Now read and basically disappointed. It’s a disjointed read, a bit rambling. Some sections are good re expeditions and the snapshot into the complex lives and relationships of the subjects but not really engaging. Constant reference to the ‘wild’ lifestyle of his and contemporaries lifestyles becomes tedious. All in all ok but that sense of disappointment persists.
