Very disappointed
I haven't really been able to use this accessory as yet for a couple reasons; A) the bed with the tailstock is way too short to do anything other than small glasses or mugs. There are ways to (sort of) get around it's limitations, but you shouldn't have to. B) very big problem, poor design on the L8, whereby if I raise the height of the laser head enough (anything other than 'normal')to accommodate the roller and contents, the laser 'dot', goes out of alignment no matter what I do. I have redone the alignment multiple times using lightburn and the camera. After aligning at a nominal 'normal' height the alignment is perfect. However when I do the alignment at a higher height, as with a tumbler or anything of eg, 1.5" thickness, the alignment is out by about 3mm, enough to ruin the finish on a client's, very expensive, replica Mauser broom handle pistol.

M19 super easy to setup and use with L8
Setting up the rotary roller in Lightburn was super easy. Because it uses the "z" axis for rotation it leaves freedom to move the laser in the x and y directions, removing the need to move the rotary to align it to the laser. As long as you set up the roller parallel to the x axis everything goes very smoothly. I just used it to engrave 24 wooden pens as gifts. Once set up it was a production run! Now I need an excuse to try the M18 that I purchased. I have used a simple rotary before but never a rotary with a chuck.
