My son loves his new bathing suit. Great design and he loves that his matches mine. Very comfortable and he doesn't have chafing on the inside of his thighs after a long day of wearing them (he gets redness with his other brand and that is why I'm so glad I found Fair Harbor).

High quality construction, but could be a bit longer

My husband wears the adult version and loves them, so I tried these for our 10-year-old son who hated the mesh of typical trunks for the ocean (ouch!). They are the same high quality construction as the adult short, but I wish that they were a bit longer and that the outer shirt had a bit more leg room. My son is of a typical weight/height and got large from the size chart with the waist fitting well, but they're more slim-fitting than the adult shorts. An XL would be way too big in the waist, though. Still a good purchase, but they're taking some getting used to for him from a typical fit.
