For eating it's very tender and not bitter, I have learned it's more nutritious than kale, but I didn't realize it spreads incredibly easily and can quickly dominate a garden if left unchecked. Supposedly this is primarily because a single mature plant can produce up to 72,000 seeds, which are easily dispersed by wind, animals, and contaminated topsoil. Additionally, these seeds can remain dormant in the soil for decades, making future outbreaks common.spreads incredibly easily and can quickly dominate a garden if left unchecked. I'll need to keep a watchful eye. It's already made its way into my other containers!
