Perfect for the detail work

I picked this little unit to do the small detail areas and for the chrome and it does a great job. A little bit of polish and my chrome roof rack looked like new.

A great little DA polisher

I did not give this polisher a kind life. I used it heavily with 220, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 4000 grit sanding pads and then multiple stages of aluminum polish to get a set of used wheels fully restored with a mirror finish. This was done for 5 wheels over the course of several weeks. Wet sanding and running the tool non-stop through 2 fully charged batteries the motor got quite warm. Left to cool while the batteries charged, it was ready to go for another round. Held up very well, although the one 12mm counterweight bearing needs to be replaced as it has developed some play. One of the power wires broke at the solder connection to the terminal and required me to take the unit apart and re-solder the one connection. It's been working great after the reconnected wire. Given what I did to this poor polisher, I think this is more than acceptable. The battery indicator isn't that accurate and it went from full to 50% to 0% and stopped over the last 15% of the runtime. Battery life is pretty good, but I wouldn't rely on the indicator to know exactly how much is left in a charge. Lots of pads, two different counterweights and relatively quiet. Very pleased with my purchase.
