This head is the quickest and most stable locking head I've seen. Once you lock in this thing can be adjusted quickly and locked down for an incredibly stable shot.

Simple but Steady

Went back and forth on which one of the major three heads I was going to buy for a thermal rig. I was moving up from a cheaper tripod with a ball head and pan option. Although everything locked up tight on my old head it just seemed like so many options to have to have to tighten and loosen to scan. After a conversation with another hunter at Scheels I settle on this one. It’s been great! One lever to lock out and locks up solid as a rock. I was worried about hunting in hills and elevation with it as we live on the edge of the Missouri River hills. It’s got more than enough tilt to scan pretty decent sized hills.
