Before purchasing I had some questions/reservations regarding the Needle roof rack and how close it came to the sun roof and if it would cause any excess noise or issues when I was using my sun roof. I had checked with Sherpa and although they are great, I was only getting basic replies. Overland Junction was the only place I could find a decent picture showing how close it came to the sunroof, which was about 3". I sent an email with my questions on a Tuesday at 10:34pm and received a response at 10:58pm from George. He answered my questions but stated he would check with another member of his team in the morning and get back with me. He responded back to me around 11:30am the next day! I have to say I truly appreciated the quick response and willingness to dig a little deeper. After a couple more emails, this made it very easy to place my order with Overland Junction. I highly recommend them and when I need something else they will be my first stop. Long story short, the Needle does not cause any noise issues with or without the sunroof open. The quality from Sherpa is as everyone says is excellent, and installation is easy. Most importantly it looks great too. Do yourself a favor and spend $50 on a Harbor Freight 40" working platform and have a blanket to protect the roof and you are good to go. You can use the platform later when washing your 4runner.
