Why I Keep Reaching for the Rio Outbound Short in Baja

The Rio Outbound Short is hands down one of my favorite fly lines for fishing down here in Baja. I really like the way these lines cast — they load quick, shoot smooth, and just make it easy to get your fly out there, even when the wind kicks up or you’re throwing bigger patterns. They fish just as well as they cast. That aggressive taper helps turn over bigger flies without a lot of effort, which is exactly what you need when chasing roosters, jacks, or even the early season dorado. Whether I’m on the beach or the boat, these lines just get the job done. If you’re looking for a reliable, hard-working line that performs in salt and holds up to Baja conditions, the Outbound Short is tough to beat.

Been using this line for musky for the last 7 years. I have yet to find a better single hand casting line on the market. The addition of the welded loops on both ends is a huge bonus now.
