We purchased a 2025 Ioniq 5 SE instead of an SEL because that's what was available. One of the features of the SEL, not on the SE, which I coveted, was the built-in Qi charger. I tried to jerry-rig a replacement with a Belkin charging pad. It's a black disk about the same size as the Apple pad. On our first long trip, I found out it was fussy about the placement of the iPhone, and it seemed not quite able keep the battery charged when using CarPlay navigation and audiobook playback. The wireless charging insert from Ioniq Guy, along with a real Apple charger, seems to do a much better job. (This is a mystery to me because both the Belkin and Apple chargers are rated at 15 watts.) The IG insert fits well and is easy to install. There is one problem that should be mentioned. If the iPhone is being charged, and the sun is shining on it through the windshield, then it has a tendency to overheat and stop working. This can be mitigated by directing the air conditioning vent at the phone. I'm also going to try shading it with a thin cloth.

The iconic Ionic Guy was very helpful with my purchase, and once installed it’s been great. Mag Safe charging works exactly as advertised, and since I have a 2025 with wireless CarPlay it is even more useful. Highly recommended!

As you can see from the photos, part of it impinged on the rubber mounting points. I used a wirecutter to snip off the bit that was impinging and now the rubber piece seats easily into the console. I know you made a lot of revisions to get this right...you are so close!
