Only my second brand of rosin
First off, I am a total beginner with no bowed instrument experience prior to a couple of months ago. I purchased this rosin upon recommendation from several online sources and reviews. This rosin is very smooth on the strings. I am very pleased with the way it feels and sounds. It also has reduced the amount of dust left behind.

Better yet
I purchased this rosin on advice of my nephew -- 15 years playing violin. This is definitely an improvement over the rosin that came with my used violin, and absolutely an improvement over Jade JM100 in my opinion. The JADE rosin seems to form a sticky mass that forms hard ridges on the G string. This rosin - SALCHOW has very little residue and produces a nice clear sound on my violin, an inexpensive Wm Lewis and sons -- which BTW sounds a lot better after I set it up correctly.
