Metacil Metal Pencil / Sun-Star

This is infinitely cool, but it does kinda give me the nails on a chalkboard feeling

The overall concept is a good idea, however the pencil falls short on execution. I think it all comes down to the material choice for the writing end. I believe they use a mixture of aluminum and graphite, as liquid aluminum has the same density as graphite, allowing them to be mixed. However, this leaves a very brittle, rough material that has a lot of drag while writing, and is incredibly easy to break once dropped. I find this choice strange, as the pencil writes at the same darkness as a metal like bismuth, which is more durable, smoother, and erases just as cleanly. I would like to see something like this as a refill option.
