A 15 year old surround processor lost its luster

I bought a 16 year old high-end surround processor, and was dismayed by the condition of its 3-dozen gold-plated RCA jacks. They were dull and, I thought, dusty, but wiping with a damp cloth did nothing to improve their appearance. Florida's salt air apparently took its toll, as I have owned the same model since 2009 and its connectors still look factory fresh. Having no experience with DeoxIT, the StereoShine kit looked like an effective way to try it out. The clever application tool made quick work of cleaning the connectors and they shine like new again. I was beyond pleasantly surprised.

Worked perfectly, restoring clean sound from my turntable through my amplifier.

Worked well. Probably better on 20 year old equipment. The 40 to 50 year old doesn’t shine up the same. Probably just more oxidation on some of the RCa jacks.
