As one who appreciates the quality and longevity of vintage brass razors, I was immediately intrigued by the Blaze. A plated, solid brass razor is a rarity in today's modern DE market, yet I hadn't seen much buzz about the Blaze. So I decided to see for myself, and I'm glad I did. Pearl has done the job very well. I know there have been some reports of QC issues with the Blaze, but I've seen none of that: my example from Maggard Razors is excellent in terms of fit and finish. I really like that the blade alignment mechanism uses tabs and slots, which gives alignment that is dead on, and is vastly better than posts. This fit quality is what Fatip brass razors should be, but aren't. And it's not just looks; the Blaze shaves great as well. It is fairly mild--by which, I mean very comfortable, with minimal blade feel--but still plenty efficient, delivering a very close shave. If you prefer a not-too-aggressive feeling razor that still gives a close shave, the Blaze is a no-brainer. Solid brass, great shave, just $40, and Maggard's great service; what are you waiting for?

Pearl Blaze

Excellent quality razor all around. Coupled with the provided blades, it easily took down nearly 4 days worth of stubble. I also found it to be very efficient for a mild razor, 2 passes and some touch up and I had a BBS shave. I am super impressed with the quality of the razor and very happy with my purchase. It has quickly taken a favorite spot in my shaving den after just one shave.
