NEW DryShield Waterproof Field Jacket

The jacket is great and fit perfect. Great build and quality. I have returned it only due to colour, I was hoping the orange was brighter as apposed to a burnt orange colour. I will continue to purchase more great products from Northbound Gear. Thanks.

I “finally” received the jacket and wore it for the first time in a torrential downpour here in Canada. I was completely dry and warm and the design allowed the rain to not soak my pants while working. I also wore it one day on a walk with a light shirt when it was windy and 2 degrees. The jacket kept me quite warm, and I liked the high collar with the soft interior around the face and neck. It blocked the wind perfectly. Again, like my pants my only complaint is the length of time that it took to receive this item from China which was about five weeks. I think the company needs to relay this information prior to ordering just so customers are aware. All in all, I am giving it five stars because this coat will most likely last me for the remainder of my life.

Another brilliant jacket by Northbound Gear

I have thoroughly tested this jacket in the UK having worn it during hot, cold, dry and wet weather. This is a premium jacket costing £115 at the time of writing, about £60 cheaper than the Northbound Gear Apex Jacket. I was very excited to try out this jacket as I found the Northbound Gear Apex jacket to be excellent. I appreciated that Northbound Gear used compostable packaging with this product, a step in the right direction and matching Northbound Gears values. The jacket is comfortable and has several pockets. My two favourite features are its breathability and waterproofing. I have worn this during intense rain white cycling and have remained dry and comfortable. I have also worn it while walking in warm weather and haven't felt too hot. The design is minimalist and simple. My only negative comment about the design is that the wrist cuffs don’t stay where they are, but it doesn’t affect its comfort, it just doesn’t look great. Overall, this is an excellent jacket and I will be using this in the years to come when I need a high-performance jacket in challenging weather like hiking in Scotland during the winter. I would thoroughly recommend this jacket to hikers looking for a jacket that they can expect to keep them warm and dry, even if the weather is wet and cold.
