Great Ragtime by a Wonderful Band
I am probably prejudiced since I have known Hal for years, but this is a great album. Wonderful selection of ragtime and ragtime-inspired tunes played in an authentic style by musicians who know both how to play their individual ensemble parts and how to blend together as a true band. Everyone is fine but special kudos to Kris Tokarski for great piano and T.J. Muller for his trumpet work (Love that "dirty" tone!). Also a treat to have Bill Mason join in. And so nice to hear an album recorded live in a studio!
