Black Belted Floral Print Illusion Long Sleeve Gown

DO NOT BUY THIS DRESS! I purchased for my sons wedding and received 2 weeks before the wedding also knowing it would need to be hemmed-there was a tag warning not try on with rings? so I followed but the top material is so cheap that it scratches- when I tried on first time I noticed scratches around the sleeves snap area but once snapped the damage was covered-so I gave it a pass and took to seamstress for hemming.she noticed little scratches throughout the dress but I didn’t have time to return and find another dress and it was a evening wedding so may not b noticeable. I contacted Designer and sent pictures of the damage and asked for 50% discount and they didn’t respond- the wedding was in a grassy/pavement area but after the wedding the bottom of the dress was shredded! I took more pictures and asked for a discount since I had hemmed and wore it OR credit for 50% for my next purchase! For over a month the reply “we are reviewing and can only offer 15% Seems I can’t post pics here

After trying a 16 in different dress by Mac Duggal, I went down to a 14 for this one as they didn’t have a 14 available in the original. I maybe could have fit a 12 but didn’t have time before a formal wedding I had coming up. (Dress was delayed a long time due to hurricane In FL; no one’s fault. I am a usual size XL - closer to 16 than 14, and this dress runs large on me. It is really beautiful, lined, heavy - is formal and feels formal. I had to have the bust altered which was easy to do as it just entailed minimal sewing together of then two sides of the opening. The chest has an opening that was too big for me (40C). So I have a large rib cage/waist but not necessarily the breasts to match so it was a little loose. I could have worn a push up bra and let it ride, but I wanted a slightly more modest look for this wedding. More detail on size: while I’m a typical XL/16 as mentioned above, I carry it in my tummy, not my hips or legs. And in this size 14 there was still a little “give” there so it wasn’t too tight and was close to being too loose. But there is a tie at the waist that helps add definition. I’m 5’10”. This is a floor length gown so if you’re not 5’9” or taller, or shorter but wearing heels that gets you to that height, you may need to have it altered. All in all, however, it is of very high quality and the pattern is gorgeous and the price is fair for what you get.

Wore it to a wedding in NYC. It was perfect. Comfortable, but still formal. The draping made for dramatic movement when I walked. Only issue is it is very low cut. Had I had time, I would’ve gotten the top fitted. Overall it was gorgeous. Get ready for many compliments!
