Beautiful arrangement. Terrible reveal.

Everything was great except for one critical detail. As my wife pulled it out of the envelope, our boys and I waited with excitement for the big reveal. However, instead of popping open into a 3D arrangement, it stayed flat. I was really disappointed, and she was a bit confused as to what she was looking at. I had to manually open it to show her how it was supposed to look. I inspected it and found that the two rubber bands inside the arrangement, which were supposed to spring it open automatically, were too long and weren't applying any tension. I had to carefully remove the bottom one (I couldn't get to the other), tie a knot in it to shorten it, and reinstall it (see photo). That gave it enough tension to pop open. The arrangement looks great now, but that first impression was a major flop. And it’s very true what they say about first impressions.
