Spirit Jacket - Black

Great Mid-Layer Jacket

B420 Spirit Jacket - black, size medium (true size), bought overseas from Australia (Sydney, New South Wales (NSW) where it is currently winter). I wear it in an urban environment when commuting to work and out and about. I use it as both a mid layer and outer layer. Typically winter is cold with blue skies with the coldest time being early-mid morning (5 am-9 am). When I go to work at 6 am or so I wear it over a black merino wool T-shirt and my black ARKTIS Ocelot Fleece, then if it's still cold or raining I'll wear my ARKTIS Contact Jacket (lightweight shell) or ARKTIS waterproof Hunter Thermal Coat (with liner) over it. At lunch when it's warmed up I can wear the B420 Spirit Jacket as an outer top over my T-shirt as it's easier to put on and off than the ARKTIS Ocelot Fleece (pullover style top). I also wear the B420 Spirit Jacket in lieu of my ARKTIS Hunter Thermal Coat Liner which is thicker, heavier and warmer which is for extreme cold (I just wear my ARKTIS waterproof Hunter Thermal Coat over it, using the Spirit as a mid-layer); so there's lots of versatility. I also find it nicely windproof as when I go to lunch the cold is often the windchill factor (tall office buildings and avenues with 'wind tunnels', etc). It's not too warm, not as warm as the ARKTIS Ocelot Fleece but that's good so you don't overheat, great for being more active. I'd recommend getting a true size. The soft zip up stand collar is great, it's not too tight and it's not too loose. I can just zip it up over my ARKTIS Ocelot Fleece soft stand collar for walking but it might better suited when wearing a thin rollneck T-shirt or similar garments, nothing thicker than a fleece collar if you still wanted to wear it zipped up all the way, or you can just unzip it slightly. No problem with T-shirts or collared shirts. The sleeve cuffs have narrow bands to keep warmth in, but they aren't too tight, nor too loose and they are the right sleeve length (true size). Great buy, and the website photos are accurate.
