A near miss, but ultimatly just done wrong

These fall into the strink-it category of women's athletic equipment. At least they are not pink. I bought these instead of the men's shoes (which they call unisex, but honestly, they are men's) because the men's version are a bit too wide near instep and heal area. While these do have a better fit around the heal, they have just miniaturized the shoe. The widest part of the forefoot hits too far forward, leaving the widest part of my foot actually behind the toe box. It's as if they think women have shorter toes, while still wearing the same length as the men's shoe. Also, these shoes smell like cheap plastic and are quite shiny. On the positive, the soles seem nicely done and they are indeed light. If they would just put more thought into the women's sizing, they would have been ok. I would exchange them for the lesser evil men's/unisex, shoes, but they charge a $30 fee for the privilege. So I'm stuck with them.
