History corrected, reality confirmed!
This opinion is from a modeller’s point of view …..
This book corrects a lot of the myths surrounding the Tiger most notably the one that many seem believe that the tank was invincible! It was not, and the back room boys proved that giving those at the sharp end a chance to take it on with a better chance of surviving until the next confrontation. And we must thank the Armourers, the Ballistics boys and girls and the Boffins for that. From a modelling aspect the illustrations clearly show the damaging effects of projectile-on-plate giving modellers the opportunity to accurately represent shot damage in scale. And there is always seeing what damage the tank could take and what might bring it down!
Whether you just want to educate yourself, are interested in history, want the truths or like accuracy in your models then this book may well be a good investment! Whilst the book’s subject matter may seem obscure it was a worthwhile purchase for me! Cheers!
