My wife's birthday was in September, and her sister actually brought this collection to my attention. My wife and her sister are first-generation Americans and their parents were immigrants from Mexico in the 80s. Yes they came here "illegally," but are better people--starting with the grandparents whom I've met in Mexico, all the way to my wife, and down to our niece--than a lot of people who were born here in the US. They earned an honest living, own a house outright in South Florida, and legally obtained their citizenship. I'm proud to know these people, and blessed to have found someone who takes pride in her roots and has brought that into my very pasty white Irish-Scottish life.
