Hultafors Splitting Hatchet 20 1/2 inch handle

High quality axe

Purchased for a birthday gift for my dad. He loves it. Been looking for an axe like this for a while now. Very happy to have come across these guys. Will be ordering again.

Superb axe, highly recommended

At age 60 I finally woke up to the fact that my chopping axe(s) are not splitting axes, and all of the axe work I do is splitting. I cut rounds with a saw, not an axe, and a splitting axe processes rounds into firewood and kindling. At 20 1/2 inches length, the Hultafors splitting hatchet hits a sweet spot for canoe camping and car camping. Highly recommended.

Its the camping & splitting axe I always wanted, but didn't know existed.

Compared to the splitting axes I'm used to, it feels unusually short and the head feels unusually heavy. Its small enough to pack in the baggage compartment of a small plane, or unobtrusively squeeze into the size of a typical backpack. After making a few campfires over the holidays, I was really impressed by how good it feels - and how well it performs - splitting wood. That, and the axe is just gorgeous. It made an excellent christmas present for my hard-to-shop-for outdoorsy brother.
