New design of shorts not as good as old design

I bought a pair of shorts in 2007 which have served me well I bought a pair of the same size recently and had to return them because they were too small the replacements fit but are not as comfortable as the old design

Shorts were too small, shorts did not fit

Disappointed that the shorts, apparently fitted to my measurements, did not fit. Returned the shorts, was told they fitted another of similar demensions , over clothes. Maybe the shorts were not designed for a female figure!
