The waist stretches a bit in case you’re bloated but I would not get a size too large because it will not on the other hand shrink. The cut is as pictured and the style and colour are as pictured. Even though the colour is very light it isn’t see through because of the lining on the inside. I purchased an ça because my waist is somewhere within that measurement and while I do not have the curviest hips, I wouldn’t worry too much about the bottom working with your hips if it usually isn’t a huge problem, there is certainly more stretch than with certain jeans to get the bottoms over your hips…

5'7" 150lb athletic build and the medium is great. I love the color! I also own this bottom in a small and it fits me well enough, but is a bit less coverage on my bum.
