I range from 37-40 inches in the thigh/ hip & I ordered a medium but when I looked at the tag it said large. Anyway the waistband is perfect, not too loose and not too tight. This definitely helped me reach my goal of looking as invisible as possible. I purchased these for my baptism so I'm not Muslim! My Hope for dignitii is that someday they can provide more natural fibers or at least decomposable materials for activewear. I'm not going to be wearing these on a daily or even a weekly basis because I don't want that much exposure to polyesters/nylon ( can't remember which) on my skin.
