This tester case works well for testing switches, and looks great. I added some clear keycaps to the switches that I put on it which completes the look. Not sure if I will use it with the lid on much, but the lid is designed to sit as a base under the switch plate. Definitely heed the warnings in the product description about which switches fit tighter or looser.
