Excellent product for providing slick lubrication needed during the claying process!
I am a weekend warrior detailer. I fully detail our family vehicles in the spring and fall and perform maintenance details in between. I mechanically clay our vehicles every spring and fall. I bought this product to use as the lubricant for the Rag Company’s Ultra Clay Towel that I also purchased from Carzilla to do my mechanical claying. Pros: Excellent lubricity … the product provided a very slick surface between the clay towel and my vehicle’s paint surface during the claying process. Excellent results … the product helped leave no traces of scratches on the vehicle’s painted surfaces after the claying process. Easy clean up … the product left little residue behind that was easy to wipe away with a microfibre cloth. The product is advertised as being safe on synthetic clay towels (which was my experience) and free of paint protectives (that would have to be removed if a paint polishing was needed after the claying process). It also can be used when claying a vehicle’s glass. Cons: None … based on my experience using the product. Some detailers like to use a “one-step wash, clay and seal” process. If this is your preferred process, other products may be better suited for you. I prefer using products that are purpose designed. So, I like clay lubricants that provide the slick lubrication needed during the claying process and that are free of paint protectives … leaving me in a better position to polish the paint should polishing be needed following the claying process. Botton Line: Based on my experience, I highly recommend KochChemie Cls Clay Spray.
