We are particularly fond of gingham. The word comes from genggang, Malay for stripe … ironic in that it is now known as a check fabric. And that is why we like it - it is a cloth of glorious contradictions.

A nice shirt for an affordable price

This shirt is just what I was looking for as a replacement for one that my husband loved and had worn forever.It's very fine material so not suitable for cold weather, but fine under a jumper. Only thing was that I asked for a pocket and wasn't expecting to have to sew it on myself!
