Love it but waist is big

I love these jeans! They'd be perfect if the waist wasn't so big. Based on other reviews, I ordered a size 6, and the waist was still huge. For reference, I'm 170 lbs, 5'9" with really long legs, and I usually wear a size 8, but sometimes I can fit into a size 6. My waist is 27 inches. Besides the big waist, I love these jeans so much that I couldn't return them. I just bought a sewing kit from Amazon to take in the waist because everything else was perfect. The jeans are lovely, but if your waist is smaller, these might not fit since they don't have belt loops. TBH, I knew this when I ordered them, though. In fact, that was one of the reasons I was drawn to them. I love jeans that don't have belt loops because I don't like the bulging that happens when you wear a fitted shirt or tee over them. All in all, I'd buy them again if I needed to, but I might size down to a 4 since they have a lot of stretch.
