When I was growing up in the early 1960s, my mother and both grandmothers all swore by Fuller Brush products, and wouldn't use anything else. I followed in their footsteps. My bright-red Fuller Electrostatic Carpet Sweeper is my go-to -- especially if the electricity goes out (we live in Florida, and during storm season, the carpet sweeper is a must-have).
