Aromatic green forest tea is what this smells like to me. As a person who loves to smell like a spa or forest, this is perfect - so unique

I have both Swim and Lull, so smelling this at first I could immediately pinpoint the Gabar “DNA” of it, which i can only describe as nostalgic. Ground’s notes intrigued me (i’m a fig lover especially paired with orris). At first, it has a sharpness that’s reminiscent of the opening of Swim (not in smell but in sensation), but also like Swim, it quickly melts on skin.
The fig here does something incredibly meticulous, which is that it’s both forward and juicy while also somehow maintaining softness. The fig in Swim blends into the near-aquatic atmosphere. Ground’s fig lives in the pulse of the fragrance, and everything else is built around it. It’s brighter than Thé Noir 29, more of a joyful cloudy day than a moody one.
I picture an elegant, academic woman who plaits her hair. Who does homework at a mahogany desk. Who has a “mean streak” because she’s introverted. Who loves rainy days and ornate architecture.
I love all of my perfumes by Gabar, but Ground is truly special.
