Koa wood produces a very special sound.
I've tried many woods in musical instruments. Koa wood has a warm and resonant sound. In Chile, we have larch wood, which produces a very warm and resonant sound, similar to koa. However, koa wood produces a brighter sound in the higher strings.

It’s everything I hoped it would be!
I am thrilled with my Satin Hawaiian Koa Baritone Ukulele. The action is sweet, and the intonation is spot on. I love her voice! I am having a ball learning new chord shapes and sharpening my ear by switching from the baritone to a tenor (usually my Kala arch top).

Excelent baritone
I like this ukulele very much. It has a good finish , black binding and shiny rosette. tone is warm, strong and clear. The D'Addario Titanium strings are great. I changed the strings to Aquila Lava strings and the ukulele sounds a bit less strong in resonance and volume. I expect I'll restring with the D'Addario sometime.
