Maven X in Indigo Stretch Thermal Denim

Excellent design, a little bit roomy — but that's not a bad thing.

These are not the slimest of the Mavens, which sadly are being discontinued . They are straight legged at the bottom and very roomy in thighs and hips. These run large for their sizes, unlike other Mavens that are true or slightly snug for their size — in my experience.

So comfy and warm! Weird smell, runs a little big

These are incredibly comfortable and warm, they're perfect for my job as a dog walker, I love that I can bundle up without feeling weighed down, no more putting on long underwear under wind pants and then changing out of them to do errands or do something inside, these are literally perfect for all day and all activities. AND I'm constantly getting comments on how good they look and where I got them! I am basically a Dovetail ambassador at this point, I talk them up to every woman I meet who shows even the slightest interest :D They also run a little big compared to my experience with other Dovetail pants; the 8s are just a little too big for me, whereas I wear a 10 or even 12 in the Maven Slims and Freshley overalls. The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is that there is a pervasive, chemical/petroleum smell that does not dissipate with washing. I had the same thing with my denim Freshley overalls that I got over a year ago. I thought the overalls were a fluke and of course washed them thinking the smell would dissipate, and then couldn't return them when it did not. I don't have any good excuse for thinking the Maven X in denim would be a different story, I guess hope springs eternal, but again instead of returning them I washed them (and have washed them at least 5 times since I got them) and still the smell remains. Dear Dovetail, I love your products so much but if there's something in your processing that is using a petroleum-based chemical, please know that it stays forever in your denim articles and it's very unpleasant!
