Aquatherm High Visibility Hood Meets Expectations

A friend recommended the scull cap with strap, when I visited Reed's store, I decided to purchase both scull cap and hood. When I checked the fit, I was a bit concerned that hood felt a little looser than the scull cap. One of the reasons I purchased both was rolling practice during summer and shoulder seasons. Today, I gave the hood its maiden voyage. Lake Superior water is always cold, today, water temp was 6 °C, air temp hovering around 0 °C. The hood's neck gaiter tucked neatly between the neck gasket and the neoprene collar of my dry suit. The hood protected me well during a 10 km/1:30 hr. paddle, without getting hot. My plan is to wear a fleece or wool neck gaiter inside the hood when it gets colder. Last test before getting out of my kayak was trying a couple rolls. I have some sensitivity of cold water in my ears causing vertigo and nausea, no problem wearing this hood! Very happy with my purchase!

A replacement

It was a good hood so I replaced it when it wore out.

I mainly use my hi Vis hood for scuba diving and snorkeling in places like the Maldives and red sea. They take up minimal space in luggage and really show up against blue water. Everyone who sees it wants to buy one. My only modification is to make a small hole in the top when using scuba as bubbles can collect underneath. This is my third one, really good product.
