Made to Order: Hastings St. Event Bag

This is THE Goldilocks bag. I do a lot of long road trips with my 2 big dogs. We take the scenic route and stop every couple hours for walks in small towns. I need a bag I can wear cross-body, that I can throw over my shoulder and carry a few miles without discomfort. It’s gotta hold my wallet, keys, doggy bags, treats, a ball, and my phone, AND allow me access to all those things one handed without having to take the bag off.... and also not look like hiking gear. Something civilized looking but also tough enough to take camping. Everything I’ve tried is too big, too small, and/or too janky to hold up to the amount of use I put it through, or just ugly. I knew I needed an American made satchel of some sort. Preferably leather. So I went to one of them websites with lists of American manufacturers of different things and looked at like 10 different bag / luggage companies before I got to Pingree. First thing I’s like omgeerrd Detroooiiitttt! And then I saw the Hastings Event bag and I knew- That is my baby. I know her when I see her. Man that seatbelt strap is great! Painless carry of all my stuff for miles every day. Easy to adjust quickly so I can use it as a purse on the rare times I’m oot & aboot sans dogs. I love that it’s lowkey classy. Obviously something special if you look close, but not flashy so as to draw attention to a woman traveling alone. It’s the perfect size for my dog walk accoutrements. That waxed canvas lining feels strong and serious and it’s easy to clean. I love the metal feet because it’s going to be set down on the asphalt and grass and sidewalks quite often. I’ve already ordered a different style bag from Pingree to give to my daughter.

I had bought this Telegraph tote a couple years ago in Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes beige, and wanted to upgrade to a cross-body option. I reached out to the team and they are very accommodating in helping envision the idea. They added "d" rings for my seatbelt strap and the leather accents on the handles. Thanks Team Pingree!
