Men's Alpaca Wool Sweater: 300 Lightweight

Good fit, itchy on skin

There is no doubt the first touch out of the box is soft and luxurious. However once I put it on it was very itchy on the skin. I one half a dozen smartwool shirts, 100% pure wool and those are much softer when wearing. I'm hoping if I wear this a few times it will soften up on the skin or I'll get used to it? At the price point I was expecting very soft on my skin! The fit is good, I purchased a large and I am 6'2, 185lbs. I though the wrist opening was a bit too loose and could be snugger.

Product fits well, is very warm, and has a nice color, but the fabric is very itchy. I will only use it as a second layer while hunting. Arms of Andes suggested I wash with fabric softener to help resolve itch issue, but I didn't think you should use fabric softener on natural fibers. Really dissatisfied with this advice. I am guessing the shirt is made with a high percentage of non- baby alpaca fibers.
