This is an unusual book, in fact probably unique. It mixes the suffering of the writer from Lyme Disease with his obvious love of birds. Being a scientist he describes both with technical acuracy. His writing style though is far from dry but imaginative and creative. This is a very good and sincere book. My only complaint is that the photographs of these often beautifully hued creatures are not in colour.

This was a great book to read and understand the difficulties of chronic disease and a solution that is all natural - getting outside and birding!
