Unfortunately, Gay-Mer leaves a pink stain after removal. This would wouldn’t be a problem in a lip product, but when applied to the eye area it’s noticeable. Plus, eye skin is delicate, so you really don’t want to scrub too hard at it. Honestly, this just goes into one of my further frustrations with this product, which is the use of colorants not approved for eye use by the FDA. Technically, it’s not called an eye product on the packaging, but it’s in the eye makeup section, and it’s shown used as eye makeup on the promotional material. I understand that you can’t achieve true fluorescent colors with eye safe colorants. It’s why Red 28 Lake is there. But one of the things the FDA looks for with eye use is staining specifically. The texture is great, and it applies well. The staying power is fine. I’ve seen better, but it’s solid. You can go out and sweat without worrying.
