Carmel Mechanic Grease Pencil Lithography

Lithography is a wonderful printmaking process that centers around the idea of oil and water hating each other. Fine art lithography is trapped in the 1820s when it comes to the drawing crayons available. Think the fat China markers. The 2.8mm Carmel Grease pencil works PERFECT for fine art lithography. Ethed as the same as a Korns #5. The pencil allowed for great control while drawing on the limestone. The grease ethed well and rolled up nicely without filling in. I expect to be using these pencils for my lithography work for the long term.

Excellent clutch pencils

I use these clutch pencils and wax-based inserts for life drawing. In drawing from life, one is always working against time, so it is good to have an ever-sharp feed without having to peel off paper as is the case with a regular grease pencil.
