Great addition to books on the Woodhead Line
Many still lament the closure of the Woodhead Line and this lovely book adds to the many books available on the subject. The photos are great and the coffee table size luxurious. Recommended.

Woodhead reviewed.
I loved all the geographical infrastructure features and information given. It was very informative. To be honest there are too many pictures of each class 76. Given the pictures are black and white, and their basic design it is rather repetitive. I would have like to have seen extra information about after the line, both geographically and chronologically. For instance what happened to the coal workings to Fidlers Ferry after Manchester? Was the route fully electrified, or the motive power changed? Chronologically, taking the line up and the footpaths and cycleways being installed. Overall, really enjoyed it.

Excellent book
Over the years I have purchased all of the Strathwood modern image series books. All have been of excellent quality with mainly previously unpublished photos. This book is no exception, it makes a great pictorial record of this wonderful much missed railway line and the amazing locomotives that were built to work on it.
