Not Just a Shelter

Surprisingly, I had to use one of my emergency shelters that I keep in my car as I blanket to help out a driver that fell asleep and drove into a ditch. Lucky the incident happened in front of me. I immediately checked on the driver to make sure nothing bad happened. He was a bit coherent so I asked him to try and climb out the window. I couldn’t really help with the physical part because I’m disabled and I only managed to coach him out once his head cleared. He was shivering and it was night time, so I rushed to my car and pulled out one of the shelters I keep in the glove box. I opened it and wrapped him like it was a blanket. By then others stopped to help and the State Troopers arrived and called for an ambulance. He thanked me and ask what did I wrap with, because he started to warm and become more alert. I told him it was something you needed and I was glad to help. He asked where he can get an emergency kit like this and I gave him the pouch the shelter came in. I told him that’s the company and you can find them on the net. I was taken back and I just wow! First time I was able to help someone like wand I had the means to help.

I bought a few of these and I feel really good that my husband has one now in his semi. He goes all over the West Coast and we live in precarious times we take it seriously to be prepared.
