Almond Original Baby Carrier by Happy Baby

Easy and minimal!

After coming from a BabyBjorn Mini and Ergobaby Embrace, my 4 month old is finally tolerating a carrier and I'm able to get the M shape. Big win! Another win is that the straps aren't up in my baby's face so she can freely turn her head and look around. For me, the wearer, I love that it's easy to put on doing the apron style. I love how lightweight it is and not that bulky to travel out with. The only issue I've noticed is while wearing for longer periods of time, the straps buckle hit the back of my neck, my shoulders get tired, and my lower back starts feeling the strain. Now I don't have experience with other carriers that may be more supportive, but to me, this would be what I expect when I'm carrying a weighty load on my body.

This was my first #TBYB experience and it did not disappoint! I had wanted to try this carrier for a while and LZO made it possible! The fabric and fit of this style is amazing. I did have some trouble trying to figure out how to tighten the back strap once on, but realized if I just held my baby up a bit with one hand, I could adjust with the other. Almond is from the Turkey line and is super soft! I ultimately sent it to another host but ended up buying Powder instead!

We have only tried out one other SSC (non LZO). We like it but it can be bulky and take a lot of time to put on, and it is very thick and hot. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the Happy Baby OG. First thing I noted was how soft and thin the fabric was. It also wasn’t bulky at all and was super easy to put on both for front carry and back carry. It actually made back carrying very easy. The only thing was that I had trouble with the black buckle straps digging into me under my arm pits and couldn’t seem to resolve that issue despite trying different adjustments and suggestions from the Facebook Chatter group. I am signed up to try some half buckles, but we may revisit this carrier in the future or try the onbuhimo model.
