Standard Rear Disc Brake Kit For Stacyc

The breaks are a big game changer in my kids riding. The standard rear disc breaks are good. I wish there was more mounting support. But if installed correctly there are no issues.

Good little mechanical rear disc setup that isn't super expensive.

Took some tinkering, but it gets the job done and does it well. little man has a big ol rear disc now, and it works great and seems very economical compared to the other rear disc solutions for the staycyc 16, but not without some minor modification. The included caliper bracket that slots into the rear dropout does not fit the standard chain length. Tried bending/curling the caliper bracket tab that goes in the axle slot a touch more and still the fit was very poor it puts the axle too far back to fit the stock chain length. Modifying the bike was not an option. Was fortunate enough to have an 8 speed road bike chain that I could cut a link longer than stock now it all fits. Also the 2 included bracket bolts are a touch too long and contact the rotor, I had some on hand that were a touch shorter.

Had to modify bracket to make it work, somewhat flimsy of a design.
