Jacques Herbin 1670 Violet Imperial - Ink Sample

this is very similar to Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-Shikibu. Both are beautiful, luminous colors and flow well. I will definitely be buying a larger bottle!

I love this ink

I would say this is a lovely, shimmery lavender (a smidge on the deeper side of lavender)! I have this in a twsbi eco t - medium nib, and it's a nice, wet ink. the shimmer doesn't really clog my pen. i've learned that when i use shimmer, every few words or sentence(s) i will twirl my pen, or gently roll it before i continue on. its helped me to keep the shimmer even until i've run out of ink. its my favorite purple so far, but i'm still new and have been ordering as many samples as i can. i haven't had trouble with this ink - it's well behaved. i love it, and i will be getting a bottle in the near future. :-) i did not rate water resistance as i am not going to wet it down. i probably should put slow for the dry time, but i will sometimes wave it with paper to help dry it faster, but i don't think it takes all that long to dry. with all that shimmer, there was no shading in my experience - i use Tomoe River paper, Clairefontaine, and Rhodia. If you like a soft purple (think lavender) and it is very well seen on the paper (it is not so light that you cannot read what you have written), then this is your ink. it's just stunning (to me).
