Fenix HL16 AAA Headlamp

The headlamp works great! I use it at work on a hard hat. The lamp is great for nighttime work. I chose this with replaceable batteries because it’s not a constant use headlamp at night, plus I keep forgetting to recharge my other one (different brand) that would always die at inopportune times. Just wish the headband was few inches longer. Would buy this light again.

Bought this only for the headband to put on a hm65r-t 2. 0. The ratcheting one that came on it was the most uncomfortable headband I’ve ever used. You can buy just the headband, but it doesn’t specify that it will fit the hm65r-t 2. 0. I wasn’t going to chance it: buying a headband without a headlamp specifically listed it fit. This HL16 AAA seems to work good although it seems to drop down fast even in cold weather. I base my opinions off of a nitecore nu43 which lasts on high walking 50’ out to chicken coop, check for eggs, check for automatic door down and walking back. Maybe 1-3 minutes. I feel like Fenix headlamps are time regulated not thermal regulated. This is my second Fenix headlamp and I’m not impressed with the drop down runtimes. I’m going to take it and throw it in my truck as a backup/emergency headlamp.
